I totally agree with a previous reviewer--come on Food Network! Give us a little credit here. We aren't all Sandra Lee followers. We want some real recipes, you know with 100% fresh ingredients. I also agree with another reviewer that the past two or three years of cookies have been awful. These cookies should not be called polenta. Too much butter not enough cornmeal.

I really liked these cookies. They are very rich. I couldn't find currants at the store so I chopped up raisins instead. Between the orange zest and soaking the raisins in the alcohol I think they came out with a really pleasant orange flavor. I would make them again. I didn't have any problem with the consistency as Rich did......I had to use a 1/2 stick of cold butter since I didn't leave enough sitting out to reach room temp. maybe that helped because the directions said the mixture would look curdled and mine held its shape.

I made these cookies and was very disappointed. They do not have a very good flavor and poor consistency. My family took one bite and that was it.
Also, I would like to say that I have been very disappointed with the overall quality of the cookies this year. And Lisa...no need to be rude! I see that you have not reviewed this recipe but just want to complain! Get some Christmas spirit going, make some of these cookies yourself and review them...just like you said other people should be doing!

Please, Please, Food Network people, give us better cookie recipes. Disappointed three years in a row with your Christmas cookies! Who picks these anyway!

I agree with Lisa. This is the "review" section, not facebook. These are good cookie recipes and I thank the chefs for their contributions. For those who do not feel these are new recipes, there are thousands of other websites to get recipes. Feel free to do so and don't bore the rest of us who like this website with your whining.

Come on people! Just rate the cookies and quit "talking" in the Review area! This is for REVIEWS!! We are not on Facebook here, so please shut up about how you feel about FN this year and peoples names, etc! For us newcommers this is VERY ANNOYING as we just want to know about the cookie! NOT if you think this years are "nothing new" as they may be new for some of us tha are NEW and so far are enjoying the cookies so far!! PLEASE!!! Now has anyone tried this cookie?? And if so, is it any good and if not do you have a better recipe! That's ALL we need to know! Thank you!

I agree with previous reviewers. A polenta cookie with ONE tablespoon of cornmeal? Where is the polenta taste and texture. Are these cookies tested somewhere for taste and flavour? A polenta cookie made of 1/2 to 1 cup of cornmeal, lemon zest and other cookie makings is a polenta cookie. A great big raspberry to the staff who chose this as a special christmas cookie. THere are three cookies now which I won't even try.

I did not enjoy these cookies at all. I am not sure if it was the taste of the texture, but I will not be making these again.
