I want to make these but have never fried before. Do you re-use oil, or after you fry something, do you throw it away? Excited to try these!

We made these the way the recipe says and they are great. My daughter wanted to kick them up so we cut the dough in half instead of quaters, rolled it in our hands and flatened them like small pancakes, fried them the same, let them cool and stuffed them with prepared instant pudding, nutella and canned whipped cream.

I made this recipe twice. The first time, I did the cinnimon/sugar combo and had a ton of the mixture left over by the way. The second time, to change things up, I tossed the donuts in powdered sugar instead and it was even easier! Great easy and fun recipe to make.

These were so easy to make and delicious! I do not have a thermometer to check the cooking temp, so I did a few test batches- 1 donut at a time- until I found the right temp. This is a good idea because my first donut turned black in 30 seconds and was gooey in the middle! I made my donut holes in 1/2 inch balls and they puffed up and doubled in size while frying. I found they only took about 2 min. to fry. I would be kind of weary making the donuts too big though, so you can be sure they cook through completely. I also really liked the idea of the orange sugar topping, but didn't have an orange available so I opted to use a clementine. I had never heard of anyone zesting a clementine- but it wasn't so bad. I think it gave the donuts a mild sweet-orange flavor and was also very festive. I just made these tonight for the first time and am getting ready to make a big batch for my fiance to take to work with him in the morning to share with coworkers for Christmas Eve. And I also plan to make these Christmas morning with coffee for a light breakfast. Highly recommend!

This recipe is cheep and easy. We've made them several ways with powdered sugar and cinnamon and sugar. My family loves them and they are so quick and easy to do. The hardest part is cutting up the biscuits.

My twin daughter has egg allergies so she can't eat the regular donut holes from DD or Entermanns ..... these holes are sure to put a smile on her face... I did Sunny's recipe and left a few out for just powdered sugar....Easy and tasty!

I made these wonderful treats for a classroom full of second graders and they absolutely loved them. Great desert to make with kids. They were fun, quick, easy, and scrumptous. These are a must try!

This is the second time I've made these delicious treats. This time I added a single chocolate morsel to each. The challenge was to very very thoroughly pinch the biscuit dough around the morsel so it wouldn't open up in the hot oil. I lost a few morsels that way, but even without them, the donut holes were delish. I really like the combination of orange zest, cinnamon and chocolate. Very classic. To answer someone's question about avoiding the clumps of zest: mix the cinnamon and sugar first. Then, zest your orange right into the mixture and, with the back of a big spoon (I used a regular soup spoon mash it all up together. It takes a few minutes (just a few but then you really incorporate the zest into the sugar. And, I used the leftover for French Toast!
