15 Ways to Top a Waffle

With their crispy surface pockets and ridges, waffles are basically begging to branch beyond syrup, and even past chicken. (P.S. We still love them with syrup and chicken.) And with so many, many, many other foods — sweet or savory — at basically any time of day. We set up a waffle bar to see what folks in Food Network Kitchen would make. There was a lot of silent, appreciative chewing. Here are some of the waffles we dreamed up.
