I didn't have any chipotle peppers, so I made this just with onion. I had 2 big steaks so I also used more butter and a whole bottle of Bock - it was awesome!!!! And the sauce on the potatoes was also terrific!

My son took me to Fred's Texas Cafe for Father's Day and bought me the Fred's Rib Eye. What a treat. I loved it even if I did have to loan him money for gas a few days later.

This is very good. I didn't add any black pepper. The chipotles add plenty of kick and for beer I used Sameul Adams Black Lager (a great cooking beer. Also, I used eye-of-chuck and 1/2 a large onion. The second time I made it, I "Kicked It Up A Notch" by adding 3-4 Tbs. of cream. When reduced, the beer and cream really add body to the sauce. As written, the recipe is four stars. Add the cream and it is a five star dish. I also made the sauce with a panko breaded, fried pork chop. Fried in Plugra butter. Fabulous. Be sure to use a cast iron skillet.
