A huge hit...my husband begs me to make these atleast twice a year and he eats half of them atleast! If you love coconut you can't go wrong here..they are awesome. Also I don't add nuts I add a marachino cherry on top and a little almond extract to the chocolate as well...yum!

I make these every year as part of my Christmas cookie box, and every year I have to make more because my husband and kids eat them up. They are so easy, and so tasty. Sometimes I feel like making plain macaroons, but when I top with chocolate, I skip the shortening and use less chocolate chips. I also use fat free sweetened condensed milk and it doesn't affect them negatively at all. Definitely recommend.

VERY GOOD! This recipe adds a different texture than your normal macaroon. My husband liked them and he can't stand coconut! The chocolate and nuts aren't necessary, but do taste good. They are best when fresh! Serve them on the same day you prepared them or they lose some texture even when stored as Alton suggested.

I thought this cookies was absolutely delicious! My husband and I love chocolate and coconut and it blended so well together in this cookie. I made it for our annual cookie presents that I send out for Christmas every year and can't wait to get the feedback from that. It was easily the most delicious cookie on the plate. So glad I found it.

This is hands down my favorite macaroon recipe. Perfection every time! These are simple to make and always get rave reviews from friends and family. I make most of the cookies with the chocolate and nut topping but also a few without the nuts and a couple plain ones to accomodate my friends. This is a keeper. Thank you!

I try to add at least one new cookie recipe to my Christmas cookies each year. I tried this when it came out in 2008 and it was such a hit! Reminds me of an Almond Joy. One of my most requested cookies.
