These cookies are super delicious! My husband loves coconut, so I decided to make macaroons and found this recipe. It WAY beyond exceeded my expectations! I ended up making some to share with our extended family and now get requests to make them all the time! They freeze really well, so I make and freeze them so we don't end up eating them all on one day. Make this and you will not regret it!

I use a Melon Ball Scoop instead of a tablespoon. It's much easier then a tablespoon and keeps the size of each one consistent.

An absolute hit and hands down the best macaroons ever! I prepared these for a holiday party. I made half plain and the other half chocolate dipped and garnished with almond slivers. Everyone wanted the recipe, and could not believe they were homemade. They were described as, scrumptious, marshmallow clouds because of how airy and light they were. This will definitely be on the cookie list every year!!

What's not to love, coconut, chocolate and macadamia nuts. Three of natures most perfect foods...not good for you on a regular basis. If you want to make company very happy....MAKE THESE!

i made these cookies for a little family "christmas competition" and they were really soooo good. i had some trouble with my egg whites the first time around (they must've had some yolk in them because they didn't ever peak, but they actually came out tasting even better than the second time (when the whites did peak. either way, delicious and considerably easy to make!

Great cookie, measurement was not a big deal at all. I have made these several times and everyone raves about them. My only problem is the cookies flatten out instead of staying in a ball shape.
I make a double batch at a time and I thought a tablespoon size portion was a little small, so I doubled that as well.
I have also modified the recipe by adding a stick of cream cheese and pure coconut extract to the mix.

When it says tablespoon does it mean the measuring tablespoon or the other one? Also, I am having trouble finding a tablespoon sized scoop and I am wondering how to do this.

Everybody loved these cookies!!! Even people that claimed they didn't like coconut.
AND, I didn't even bother putting the chocolate and nuts on. They were great plain! Thank you Mr. Brown for our new holiday favorite!

I made these last Christmas as well as this one. I can't tell you how fast these get eaten, how many people ask for the recipe, how easy they are to make and how impressive they look. I couldn't ask for more in a cookie, except perhaps that it would be magically devoid of calories.
A perfect recipe...in my book anyway. Thanks Alton!

My husband loved these cookies. If you love the combination of chocolate and coconut, these are a winner. They are a good make-ahead cookie because they stay moist.
