I added herbs and a blend of sharp chedder and Parm. cheeses to Guy's recipe and it turned out great. I baked them until they were crispy before I folded in the cheese and they did not fall apart, just have to use a gentle hand when blending them. This is a nice alternative to french fries....Thanks Guy!!
I don't understand the hostility in some of the feed back for this recipe, sounds like some one got up on the wrong side of the bed:-

This is the first time I have reviewed a recipe. Some folks have given this recipe a bad review.........I loved it and I am not a tater tot fan. I used some garlic powder on the tots before they went in the oven..........i cooked them a little longer and they were crispy. My family loved them and I will certainly make them again. These are money Guy.

Hadn't thought of these little gems in ages. Good idea for a quick, tasty side dish. This show is very entertaining. You grumpy people that pick apart everything that doesn't fit your idea of a good cooking show need to be a little kinder as several other reviewers wrote. Just rate the recipes and keep your negative comments to yourself about the cook/chef and/or the show.

I used truffle oil instead of olive oil and skipped the garlic. We really enjoyed it. Next time I am going to leave the garlic but not raw.

I love Guy's recipes. These were great with grilled burgers and also good to have with BBQ chicken and corn.

I have a 2 year old. She lives on Tater Tots...or so it seems. I made these and she ate more than usual and now she will not eat them plain. While I love making gourmet recipes for my husband and meself, I need good dieas for easy and quick things that a toddler will like. The first day I made them, my brother was over and I had to make extra...he loved them as well. My husband does not care for frozen taters, so he did not care for them. Thanks
