Made this with some fried chicken, though I used cheddar with the grits because that's what I had. Super tasty and easy. Can't wait to have the leftover grits with some eggs for breakfast.

OMG!! This is my new fave comfort food! I want to make the grits every week!! My husband doesn't like breakfast for dinner, but I have finally found something I can make for dinner!
I haven't made the collard greens, but they looked yummy on TV, just haven't tried yet.

I love cheese grits! This is a little on the fatty side for me so next tme I will use Canadian bacon, but otherwise yum! I substituted 2% milk, sharp white cheddar and spinach. I wasnt serving right away so i let it sit covered in a 350 oven for 25 minutes. Delicious.

Very good only complaint is its a little to salty. I did not use bacon in mine.

Since I was making this for 2 people, I halved the recipe and agree with the previous person that this was still a lot. However, I only had french toast with this and didn't feel like it was too much. The only changes besides the portions that I made was to use powdered onion for a more subtle flavor and put slightly more cream in there (maybe about 4 tablespoons instead of 2 because the grits were sticking to the bottom and sides of the pan a bit. Oh, and i left out the collards because my husband doesn't like them.

Absolutely delicious!!! Will definitely make again!!

This was amazing. I am so happy that I finally found a cheese grits recipe that is as good as in a restaurant! I made a few changes based on what I had on hand. I used 2% milk, half and half and cheddar cheese. It was creamy and rich even with the substitutions.

This recipe is fantastic and so easy to make. I used turkey bacon. I bought whole milk just for this recipe but I think it would have been fine w/ 2% which is what I usually have around. They came out really creamy which I'm sure was the point but after adding heavy cream and cheese I think 2% would be fine. The collard greens were great too. I'd never had collard greens before and I think they taste better than other greens I've had before. This also still tastes good as a leftover.

OMG you HAVE to try this. This recipe for collard greens is my favorite!!! The grits are amazing, too - but I could eat and eat the collards!

I made the grit portion of this recipe and loved it. I thought the taste was much more sophisticated than most cheese grit recipes. I used applewood smoked bacon topped with the Deen Boys Stewed Collard Greens - will try this with gruyere cheese next time.
