I followed this recipe to a T. The bread turned out mushy and spewed most of the filling onto the pan. It smelled awesome and the edges tasted good. My husband could only choke down half a piece.If I were to make this again, I would cut back on the milk by 1C., add an egg and brown the bottom before putting it into the oven.

I served this to my wife for breakfast on our 27th anniversary just a few days ago. Whoa. sometimes i try these recipes and they don't work or they come out tasting funny. Not so this recipe. This was A1. My wife is a picky eater so fixing her something that she liked on the first try was an accomplishment! I replaced the banana filling with Trader Joe's Lemon Curd, but everything else was the same. My two kids and I ate the banana stuffed french toast. Yum. We all loved it and it was easy to make. Thank-you Neelys for the blessing of sharing this tasty breakfast with us. It was better than going out but tasted just as good if not better.

OMG THIS IS AMAZING!!! My husband made it for me after for Mother's day and then again yesterday for out friends birthday. I can't get enough of it!!! It will deffinantly be a staple in our big breakfast recipe book!!

Made this for my parents when they were visiting, eveyone loved it! Mom said it was the best french toast she had ever had, had to stop herself from licking the plate!
