Thanks Neelys, ever since I made these greens that's the only way my family wants them now. For everyone that say it's too sweet cut down on the sugar or omit it all together and omit the bourbon (i never use it. Again Thanks Neelys for another tasty recipe.

These are some of the best collard greens I have ever had. I can't see making them any other way.

I fell in love with collard greens after I ate this one. So easy to make! I see myself using this recipe very often.

These greens tasted excellent! I did not use the bourbon due to the preference but I would guess the taste would make the greens sweeter. I reduced the sugar to 1/4 of a cup and by mistake used a 1/4 of a cup of apple cider vinegar and there was a nice balance of sweet and savory b/c oc the bacon. Really great side dish!

This was the very first time I attempted to cook greens, and this recipe made me hit that ball right out of the park!!!
My sister who has been cooking down home food for over 50 yrs gave me an "A"!!! Made them twice and got rave reviews both times... and no substitutions. Thanks Neely's!!

Way too sweet! I think the bourbon taste would have been good, but the brown sugar was too much. I will never fix these greens again. If you like sweet tasting greens then this is for you. I even cut the brown sugar to 1/4 cup...but still too sweet. Just good ole southern greens for me. THANKS!

I love collard greens but never make them good myself. I followed the neelys recipe and for the first time loved my greens. I used turkey bacon and it still was great!

Too sweet and too much bourbon. I had to add more apple cider vinegar to cut the sweetness. If I ever make this recipe again, I will cut the sugar and bourbon down to 1/4 cup each.
