We have a crazy amount of brown sugar in our cupboard so when I saw the Neely's making this syrup, I knew I had hit the jackpot. It was wonderful and once it was done, I even added in a splash of vanilla to give it another level of taste. Thanks Neelys!

My Aunt Joe use to make us homemade pancakes on Saturday mornings and I have been trying to get her recipe to no avail. When I saw the episode with these pancakes I just had to give it a try and you guessed it my family and I totally enjoyed the pancakes...and the syrup...no more store bought syrup for me. Thank you!

I wanted to make my own syrup for my family so that we could get away from syrup with high fructose corn syrup. I found this recipe and made the syrup and the pancakes. My family loved them both! I actually doubled the syrup recipe and preserved it in a jar so we can use it again and again. Next time I make it, I'm going to add some maple flavoring. YUM!

I saw this on the show today..could not wait to try the syrup! I added a tiny bit of maple Extract, and a splash of vanilla extra when I took the syrup off the heat. It is cooling as we speak, and thickening nicely! I can't wait to make the pancakes for breakfast tomorrow morning! This syrup will be great drizzled over oatmeal. I like thick syrup, so it may simmer a little longer than 30 min next time. Also, I have some cinnamon-flavored syrup (the 'add-to-coffee type that I may try to use next time..or possibly just add ground cinnamon.
