I can say this was the BEST French Toast EVER.... My husband made it for me last year for mothers day breakfast and it was super yummy. So because I don't eat like that normally guest what I am having this year for mothers day breakfast. Pillows of sweet heaven with grilled bananas and a extra serving of OMG.... I can't wait. Repeat/last year do over.......

I have now made this twice in 1 week. My hubby loves this. he said this is his new breakfast. I did add some peanut butter to the sandwich before we grilled it. And the syrup and sugar makes it 100 times better. Thanks!

I made this and it was SO good. Although I did not use thick bread I used regular, and the toast was VERY soggy. BUT it still was good my husband loved it as well. For anyone reading you do have to use thick bread.

The kids wanted something different for breakfast and I made this and they flipped over it. I bought a loaf of un-sliced bread from the store and cut it ?Texas-thick?. It feeds more than 4 people. It has all of the things that they love ? French toast, syrup, bananas, sugar and cognac. They said it was the best.
