The cake was pretty good and I will continue using this recipe. I am happy I didn't make the glaze because the cake was very flavorful and moist which satisfied me and my family.

This was my first cake to make from scratch in several years. It was alot of work compard to a box cake, but turned out pretty good. I followed the recipe exactly except that I baked it at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Next time, I'll do 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes and it should be perfect! The only thing I didn't like about it is the frosting/glaze is not quite sweet enuf...I will tweak the glaze a little next time to cure that. Its a keeper!

The cake turned out too dry - not moist.

I made this last night. I read lots of the reviews and tweaked it a little. I thought 350 for over an hour was overkill. so, i reduced the heat to 325 and checked it at 45 min and took it out at an hour. I couldnt find dutch cocoa here in IN. So, i used regular which left it a little bit bitter [my mistake] It was firm like a pound cake should be and moist. I think I messed up by using the regular cocoa. The "glaze" I think ruined it. It was wayy to runny next time i will make it equal parts of chocolate to heavy cream and probably leave out the corn syrup. All in all I thought it was very good. I was glad i reduced the heat and cook time :D

This pound cake did not have any chocolate flavor to it and wasn't sweet enough. I will not use it in my chocolate trifle recipe I was going to originally. I'm am mad that I have to find another alternative. I'm also sorry I used good ingredients with the end results being so bad.

This is by far the best chocolate cake. My grandkids ADORE it. I've not made the icing, just dusted it with powdered sugar. I wish they would put this cake into a cookbook.

Too dry-needed more chocolate. Liked the consistency but needed more flavor.

i made this cake for new years' dessert. i didn't sample it until a day later. i had a slice with my first cup of coffee. it was like a donut! it was so good and tasty! very dense, not too sweet.
i found that when i made it, it made sense to either use a little less cream in the ganache or make it before you start the cake. it needs to set up a little before it hits the cake or else it melts in and gets thin.
