This cake was the talk of the cookout! It was so moist and delicious! I was worried that it would be too dry after reading the other comments, but it was the exact opposite. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used regular cocoa. I couldn't find the other kind. Thanks Gina!

The taste of this cake could have been delicious had it not been so dry. The cook time was way too much for my oven! I thought it sounded like a long time compared to other pound cakes I've done. I will try again and cut it back at least ten minutes. This one does have potential.

Great recipe, but it was way too dry. I believe that this one needs a readjustment to have a pound cake that is truly moist.

The cake has a wonderful flavor and is super-duper moist. However, it has the consistency of a regular chocolate cake instead of a pound cake. I wonder if that is due in part to substituting 1 of the cups of flour with 1 cup of cake flour. Next time I will follow the directions to a "T" and see if it has more of a pound cake texture!!!!!

I too added a few changes to the recipe. I used 1 and 3/4 cups of flour and 1 cup of cake flour. I also added 1/4 cup of sour cream and i shaved some semi sweet chocolate in the mix. I made this cake for Valentine's day. so i used my heart shaped cake pan and it came out beautifully,. Instead of making the chocolate glaze, I made whipped cream and topped it off with strawberries. The cake was moist and very good.
Thank you Pat and Gina. .

BY ADDING 1/2 CUP OF OIL AND USING 2/3 OF A CUP INSTEAD OF A 1/2 CUP OF COCOA, THE CAKE CAME OUT PERFECT. IT GOT RAVE REVIEWS FROM MY GUEST. I WAS ABLE TO SLICE THE CAKE ALMOST PAPER THIN AND STILL HAVE A VERY MOIST CAKE.

Made this cake today with my twelve year old daughter. Very easy directions to follow. Followed directions exactly for cake. Cake was wonderful. Glaze was also very good. Divided the glaze into two parts and added powdered sugar to half of the glaze to sweeten it more for my daughter. We both love watching Pat and Gina's show and have tried several wing recipes as well. All have been great! Can't wait to try something else.

This was the first cake I ever made from scratch and it turned out really well. The cake was very moist and the glaze was a perfect accompaniment to a delicious cake. My family members kept going back for seconds and thirds which made me happy. Great recipe!
