Mmmm. I love this channel and the Neelys. The recipe was good. I've never added the wine and it was what I was missing! I added red green & orange peppers, butter beans and fish & meat sauce and some jerk seasoning for final touch. Put in crock pot for 4 hrs..delish

This was my first time making ox tails. I ventured out and made them for Christmas....r-i-s-k-y...... and my family and I absolutely LOVED them!! They were the highlight of dinner and we served two other meats and several other side dishes as well. I will say I read most of the reviews and I did not find that a bottle of wine was too much. The key is you have to let the ox tails cook down. The wine adds such richness to the dish over all. It was great!!

OMG GOOD!!!!made for the boyfriend (at his request after seeing on show....he's talked about this for 2 years now as the best thing he's ever eaten. The noodles are amazing too!! The only thing I didn't like was the grease from the meat. I may try a different cut of meat next time.

OMG! I made this yesterday for Sunday dinner. I actually transferred to a slow cooker instead of adding oxtails back to stock pot. The meal cooked while we attended church services and when we returned, dinner was done. This recipe is flavorful. The noodles were delicious. Will definitely make again. Recipe has been filed!

This is by far one of the best version of oxtail soup/stew I have ever eaten. This blows my family recipe out of the water!! We made it exactly as specified, but did cut the veggies into much thicker chunks so they wouldn't disintegrate with the extended cooking time. It's delicious with the buttered noodles. My boyfriend would have preferred it over mashed potatoes, but as a oxtail soup 'virgin' he still thought the stew was delicious. This is our new go to oxtail soup recipe.

Very Good the only thing I did differently was I put my veggies to the side and added them 30 min before done because I don't own a dutch oven, so I compromised. browned them in a heavy bottom skillet, then transfered everything to a stock pot, also I did not have olive oil on hand because where I live it is very expsensive and you might pay for something that is a mixed version, so I substituted with margarine. Very good a definate keeper!

I am not a fan of Gina and normally avoid Neely recipes for that reason. This dish, however, is spectacular - in a homey, comfort food way. Made it a day in advance and really had to force ourselves not to eat it then, as the aroma is divine. Only suggestion is to cut the veggies in slightly larger dice than she suggests, as the long cooking time shrinks them so that the finished dish does not look like this picture. If your guests (or you are squeamish about eating oxtails, just tell them it is beef and let the compliments roll.

The college kid wins again!!! This was a great recipe! The only thing it took so long to cook, when it smelt so good!!! The only thing my cast iron dutch oven was the size recommended but being that I used more all the celery and carrots that were in the packages, so they wouldn't go the waste, which made the dish boil over :( but I just put a pan under it before I started so that helped. Next time I'm going to try the noodles. My budget couldn't afford them plus the oxtails. I will do this again!
