I have used this recipe before with and w/o sticks. To the poster before me.You can make balls out of them and fry in olive oil which is what I have done. The sauce with this one is good and tasty.

My kids and I loved this recipe. Didnt have any wooden sticks, so I formed shrimp mixture into balls, then batter fried. They were an instant hit!! Very interesting twist on an All American Favorite.

I am on a strict diet after gall badder surgery, watching cholesterol, but would like to use this recipe. The question is, can I use panko bread crumbs and bake these or cook in a little extra virgin olive oil? The sauce sounds really good. Any help?

This is the best corn dog batter ever!! I used it for hot dogs not shrimp dogs. Just left out 1/2 cp of buttermilk. PERFECT.

I made these last night, couldn't get them to stay on stick so I made patties instead. Would rather have fried the shrimp without putting them in a blender to mush them up. Served with cocktail sauce instead. My family said, they would have rather had corn dogs instead.
