We didn't have shrimp so we decided to use chicken. It's a great dish. We will use this recipe again and again.

I have tried 1/2 doz scampi recipes and none were just right--- This was wonderful! The shrimp remained the stars of this dish! I agree with 2-3T butter, and I found that about 1/2c of pasta water tamed that slightly bitter flavor from the zest. I added finely snipped chives with the parsley for garnish because I had them--- I love Pat and Gina, and I have made several of their recipes my own, but Gina.... voila starts with a "V"! :

This was dry and flavors just did not come together.
I am an experienced cook, and this just didn't work.
I had to make a completely new sauce with wine, heavy cream, garlic and lemon juice and a tablespoon of flour. Made a thin cream sauce that would actually stick to the pasta, otherwise this would have been a complete loss of some expensive shrimp.

I made the shrimp scampi with the spinach salad.. It was very delicious. I substitued the angle hair pasta with spaghetti squash. I think next time I will add more crushed red pepper to give it more of a kick. The spinach salad was excellent. I didn't thave smoked paprika or ancho chili powder so I used the regular chili powder and paprika (for the pecans. I didn't notice anything special, but I'll try it again with the smoked paprika and ancho chili powder. This was a very good meal... It would be nice to know the calorie count and nutrition info on these meals... just a suggestion.

I'm leaving college in a few days so I wanted to make something quick and EASY for my boyfriend and twin sister! This Shrimp Scampi was BOMB! I'm trying to use everything in my fridge so i chopped half of a medium onion and added it with the garlic for more flavor! Keep doin' it Gina and Pat!!
