What's better than eating a delicious, comforting corn chowder on a night in with my boyfriend watching movies? nothing! i have never posted a review for any of the recipes i make on the food network, but i just had to for this one! it was simply amazing and my boyfriend and i couldn't get enough. now he's sick and is requesting this chowder. So i guess ill be making it again tonight. i would recommend this to anyone. however, i also added some diced chicken after sauteeing the bacon and it was even better. i think adding chicken also gives it more substance, but im sure its still good without it. thanks gina!

This is A great chowder recipe! The only chage I made was adding 1 more Jalapeno (we love it spicy and 1 more clove of garlic. After A huge bowl, I added some left over chicken and found that to be very filling and wonderful. I plan to make this over and over again.

You MUST make this recipe!!! Soooo good. My two year old even ate a whole bowl of this stuff. I love the saltiness of the bacon and I also added some shredded cheddar cheese to each individual bowl. Awesome recipe!!

I've never tried a corn chowder but I'm delighted I tried this one. The Neely's are my new "it" couple on Food Network. They haven't disappointed me yet. This recipe is stacked full of flavor. It's a bit spicy but not so hot you can't enjoy the food. I love the creaminess of it. It was fairly quick for me and I'm not a speedy cook. It was easy. I love it and will make it again. My family gave it the thumbs up too so that is what will bring it to my table again. :

I'm not a big fan of soups but my family is. Everyone absolutely loved it, even myself. My husband especially liked the little kick of the jalapeno and hot sauce I substituted because I had no cayenne. It was fairly easy to make which is a major concern in my house. This recipe is definitely a keeper, I think I will serve it when company comes over. My family can't wait for me to make it again.Way to go, Neelys!!!

I made this recipe yesterday and my family and I loved it. My mother, who is not a fan of my cooking, COMPLIMENTED ME. She even wants the recipe but I think I will definitely keep it for myself. Thanks!

I am a lover of corn chowder and have tried many different recipes only to have them come up short. They always tasted like something was missiing. I've tried other recipes of the Neelys (ie bbq and really didn't care for them. But I do have confidence in my Food Network so I gave 'em another try. This was delicious! I used more bacon to get more "grease". I don't care for jalepenos so I put about 1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes in with the flour and let it cook in. It gave just a hint of heat at the back of your throat and mixed the bacon back in at the end. My 5 year old grandson ate 3 bowls and he is a very picky eater. Glad I kept the faith. Will be making this one again and again.

I was so anxious to try this after seeing it on the show yesterday. Finally got to make it this afternon for lunch. All i can say is "yum". My 10 year old daughter he wont eat anything with onions in it let alone jalipanos and red pepper loved it. It wasnt as spicy as i thought it would be, but that actually worked in the kids' favor. I found my self going back bowl after bowl.

Although the chowder was nice and creamy....I was disappointed with the "spicy" part....in fact my husband and I found in fairly bland.

After adding a few more dashes of this and that (garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper,.....etc. it was much better.

I guess I just expected a bit more heat and spice from the Neely's.
