What a fantastic recipe! I made this tonight and it was amazing. It was the first time that I had made Corn Chowder/this recipe, so I followed the recipe exactly. To be honest, I don't know what I would do to make it differently. Maybe add some shirmp or chicken. But overall, this is a wonderful heartwarming chowder. Thank you, Neelys.

I made this for my uncle who loves corn and my step-mom. I added crab meat and it was a HUGE hit! Thanks, Gina!

Thank you, thank you to the Neely's! Wow awesome flavor! Followed recipe but added green chili's and cubed chicken, just to put my spin on it. Must try!

This recipe is wonderful. Made it last night and my husband couldn't get enough! Didn't have cream so used regular milk and increased flour to 1/3 cup, also didn't have frozen corn but used 3-14oz. cans (drainedand kept all the heat of the jalapeno (no deveining and the cayenne pepper. It was really hot at first, but after letting it simmer and then sit (for about an hour it was EXCELLENT! Will need to make this again soon, as I never got to have seconds... it disappeared!

In response to "toliver" on how to cut down the hotness on this recipe is to skip the jalapena and cayenne pepper. You can also make sure you cut out the veins in the jalapena pepper along with the seeds, but if you don't like spicy, I would just omit all the spicy items...no brainer.
Okay, this corn chowder is the BOMB! I usually always seem to add or delete something from a recipe to make it my own or in some cases make it even better to me, but this recipe is delicious as is. I didn't change a thing and loved every bit and so did my family. I did make sure that I cut out the veins in my jalapena peppers and made sure I didn't have any seeds. I like a bit of kick just like the Neeley's, but sometimes their recipes or more like a punch to me.

I am always skeptical about trying a new recipe but I saw this recipe on tv and thought it looked delicious so I looked up the recipe on the Food Network and it had 5 stars, which is great. I cooked this recipe yesterday for my family and EVERYBODY loved it! It was a hit!! I followed the recipe exactly the same as its directed but instead of using the grease from the bacon I used a tbs of butter and 2 tbs of olive oil! I had read this from another review. If your questioning if you should make this or not, PLEASE make it, dont think about it anymore! You will not regret it!

This recipe turns out delicious every time. I added chicken and green chili's to it. I also make extra bacon for the topping. One of my favorite recipes.
