This recipe is AMAZING as-is, but here is how I made it even better (in my opinion: 1.5 lbs sliced Andouille (brown it first and pat it dry, set it aside and add back in later, 8oz shredded chicken and top it with sliced green onion. You won't win any health food awards, but oh, la la...

The best Chowder my family and I have had in a long time. It is simple to make and everyone could not get enough. Next time I make it I need to double the recipe.

It was delicious! I had turkey bacon which didn't give any grease so I added olive oil. It worked great. I will definitely make this again!

Have made this a couple of times - it's a hit. Sometimes add cooked chicken or lobster at end just to heat. If you have fresh summer corn (cut from the cob in the freezer it becomes extra special. Serve a green salad on the side and you are set.

My Wife an I love this Recipe. Extra Bacon grease and Extra flour help thicken up the chowder nicely.

I make this recipe about twice a month. I always use a large jalapeno with seeds and ribs. At the end I always use a potato masher to mash up the potatoes a bit to thicken it up. I sometimes don't use bacon. I use about 2 Tbs of olive oil and 1Tbs of butter instead of the bacon grease. Sometimes I add 3 carrots, sliced, to the onion & pepper mix.

This was really good. I think tho that it was a little too runny. Its a chowder lol !! Needs to be a little thicker. Next time I will be adding more flour or some corn starch. We didn't have any jalapenos in the house so I used a 4 oz can of green chilis. YUM!! A must try!

I tried this recipe earlier this year when the weather was cold. The first time I made it I followed the recipe, since then I have made a few changes. I thickened it up a bit, topped it with rotisserie chicken and a bit of cheddar cheese and serve it along side garlic bread. My family loves it!! Deelicious!
