I love this drink. Not too sweet, not too minty, just right. I made a gallon and it was gone in 3 days!

this is very refreshing & not too sweet. very easy to make- but, yes, there is a typo & it needs to be 8 CUPS of h20 to brew the tea- the rest is correct. try it- you'll like it!

This tea is so refreshing and tastey. I made the tea in 8 oz of hot water, mixed in the mint syrup and added ice cubes and water to make one gallon of tea. Instead of chopping the mint I put in the entire stem with leaves in with the sugar and water. I was then able to fish out the mint from the syrup so the tea wouldn't have mint pieces.

This is delicious tea, made sweet southern style; however, there is a typo in the recipe, which I have found in other Food Network recipes. Does anyone proof these before publication? It should be 8 CUPS of water -- not 8 ounces. I made the tea with 8 ozs. but added additional water to each glass served. After all, the recipe says "serves 6-8" which you couldn't possibly get that many servings out of 8 ozs. of water.

While watching on TV, it said 8 CUPS of cold water, but it was typed incorrectly at 8 oz. HOWEVER, this is a delicious tea that can be enjoyed all year long. The "SOUTH" is proud of this one. Queen B

I like that it doesn't take as much sugar as most sweet tea. If your kids don't like the mint floating around, just strain it out for them.

We made this tea several times and still love it, except my picky children though. They don't like the way the mint looks floating in the tea. LOL. Great tea.

jenni, i think the amount listed for the simple syrup is correct. she used 1/2 sugar to 1/2 water. you can make more of equal amounts if you like. it's just a basic simple syrup with mint leaves added.
