I had never made chicken pot pie before but after seeing the Neely's episode, I decided to give it a try. I bought 1 chicken from Albertsons that was already cooked, and when I went to go look for the dry sherry, I couldn't find it, but found regular sherry and it worked just fine. I also used the aluminum small bowls rather than the ones they used on the episodes and it they came out really nice looking still. I would recommend anyone that is looking for a simple, easy recipe for pot pies to try this one, it is amazing! The only thing I would change is eliminate the amount of pearl onions and put half the amount of it instead. You can always substiute it with potatoes or a little more chicken.

My 1st attempt at chicken pot pie and it turned out great. I added a diced potato and baked in a 13x9x2 dish instead on 35 min. Very flexible and you can add or subtract whatever you prefer~ Definitely worth a try!

I've always wanted to make a chicken pot pie. I knew one thing was for sure..... from eating other home made chicken pot pies made by other people, that I do not like cream of mushroom soup. I was very happy to find and try out this recipe. My daughter and I both loved it so much.... This recipe became my first and last chicken pot pie recipe for me !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made this tonight for me and my husband. I followed the directions except made a few changes. I did not use the onions because we don't like them and I used phyllo dough because that is what I had and I did not use the sherry because I could not find the sherry vinegar at the store I went to. But it still tasted great. My mixture did not come out thick. It was more runny but still good. I wonder if I need to add more flour or less liquid next time. Next time I will use the sherry vinegar and make it more thicker.

Wonderful! I was beginning to think I just didn't like homemade pot pie, but now that I've found this recipe, this is the one I'll make every time. Using a store bought rotissere chicken simplifies the whole process and the outcome is delicious. Really great comfort food. Thank you Pat and Gina.
