Key Lime Pie Ice Cream

Mix ingredients together and refrigerate until cold. Pour into ice cream maker and mix for 12 to 15 minutes. Transfer to another container and place plastic wrap on ice cream and cover container tightly with a lid. Place in freezer for several hours.

When ready to serve, garnish with graham crackers.

This is so easy and so good. I did not add lime zest. It tasted very limey with just the lime juice. I mixed in pieces of an already made graham cracker crust to the ice cream. Delicious and very easy to make. Put the broken graham crackers directly into the ice cream maker toward the end of the cycle. The crackers add more texture to the dessert. You can still garnish with them well. Enjoy. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This recipe is insanely good and so incredibly easy. Per the reviews I used the Nellie and Joes Key Lime Juice and added the frozen graham cracker crust at the last few minutes of churning. I typically will strain the mixture 2 to 3 times prior to adding the lime zest and before putting it in the fridge to chill. It does help to make the finished product a little bit smoother. Once it comes out of the maker, I pour the mixture in a 9x13 pan to firm up. I read that having a larger pan allows the ice cream to set up faster and eliminates the risk of ice crystals forming. I lightened this recipe up significantly by using fat-free sweetened condensed milk and substituting fat-free half-and-half for the heavy cream. It still came out smooth, creamy and delicious! I also used Joe and Nellie's lime juice (great flavor. Make sure your mix is super-cold; mine refrigerated overnight and then spent 20 minutes in my ice cream maker. Oh me, oh my, this is AMAZING! We've made it twice already this summer and must make more soon because my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I used Nellie and Joe's Key Lime Juice (and did not use zest. Also baked a store bought graham cracker crust (@300 for about 15 minutes. Placed the crust in the freezer while the ice cream mixture was in the machine. Crumbled the crust into the ice cream during the last few minutes the ice cream was churning.
