This roast was excellent. The flavors were awesome. I had never used wine or beef stock before and it sure makes a difference. The only problem I had was the cook time on my roast. I had a 3 pound roast and it took about 3 1/2 hours. Next time I think I will use a crock pot. Thank you for this awesome dinner!

This was one of the BEST pot roast recipes I've ever tried! Very flavorful...the only thing I did differently was to prepare it in a crock pot. It cooked for about 6 hours and it was tender and delicious!

Flavorful! I love it because the prep is so simple. I was actually surprised that it turned out pretty good. The only thing that didn't quite work out was the cooking time. I used a 4lbs boneless bottom round, it took forever to cook (6 hrs. I will make it again but cut the meat into 2 or 3 more manageable pieces and make the sauce thicker by dusting the meat with flour, salt and pepper before searing.

This is the best pot roast ever! I love the way it makes my house smell! It is also very tender and delicious. This is the only roast we make in my house anymore. I like a bit of a thicker sauce so I thicken it with a bit of flour or cornstarch. try this on a chilly Sunday afternoon!

Hands down best pot roast I've ever eaten. It was so tender and flavorfull. There's left overs and I'm actually excited to have them. That's a sign of good food for sure!
The only change I made was that I had a few parsnips in the crisper so I threw them in too. Yum!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I was always afraid to make pot roast due to some very dry, bland roasts I remember having growing up. That was not the case at all with this roast. So tender and flavorful! I made it for the first time last week, and I'm making it again tonight for our pre trick or treating feast. Enjoy! ps, i also added potatoes, very good!
