I was so excited when I watched the show to make this recipe. After shopping it cost me $20 for a small casserole. Asparagus was $3.99 llb, cheese was $10, add the heavy cream and panko and there goes $20. I still was hopeful this would be a fabulous side and I could use for special parties. The taste did not justify the cost in my opinion.

I'm always trying to find different ways to cook asparagus so I was intrigued with this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly with once exception, the guyure cheese was too expensive so I used havarti. My husband and I really liked the panko topping but the casserole itself was kind of bland. If I make it again, I might try to add a few more spices or use a pepper jack cheese.

I have never tried asparagus until I saw Pat and Gina make this recipe on their show. It looked easy to make so I decided to make a trip to the market and get what I needed to try it. It was real easy to make and I am glad I gave this a try!!!
If you're tired of the same ol' veggies every night, give this a try. It's creamy, crunchy and oh so deelicious!!! Renee~MA

Thanks again, you guys always come up with great flavorful innovative tasty dishes. My daughter and I loved this one, in fact I will be making this again this weekend for dinner. I absolutely love the crispiness of PANKO bread crumbs. I will send my dad this recipe, it is definitely a crowd pleaser. I absolutely love Asparagus cooked many ways, including the casserole.
I disagree with the reviewer below, if you knew all of the ingredients that went into the dish why did you make it only to turn around and complain?????? I get so tired of people that want to be so negative. I really appreciate the other positive reviews. ( I HAPPEN TO LOVE CASSEROLES

I agree with Why why why! If you change up the recipe you shouldn't complain that it isn't good. This recipe is delicious (if you follow it. We loved it. I would definitely use thick, fresh asparagus. I could see how the taste might get lost if you used the smaller, thinner kind. This is perfect just as it is! Super easy too!

I am sorry that I used fresh, organic asparagus in a recipe designed to cover up the taste of the vegetable. I agree with the person who commented on the high fat content. This recipe reminds me of the 1950's green bean mushroom soup recipes where vegetables had to be masked to be eaten. Live and learn!

I made this last night for my "Thursday Night Dinner" which consists of three children and four adults. The kids like asparagus anyway and preparing it as a casserole sent it way over the top. It was a big hit and I'll make it again. It got rated a 10!
