Love the recipe and the dumplings were delicious!! I dont know how "bderose" prepared the dumplings, but I had no problem with them dissolving....then again I didnt put it in stew. I even offered my friend some soup and she loved it, I plan on bringing her some more. My mother is sick with a cold so I plan on giving a nice bowl of homemade soup!

so good.. the dumplings were very very rich, i may either add more flour or cut back a lil on the butter. Making it again tonight but adding mixed veggies as carrots celery and onions was not enough. I too added my own seasoning, it was bland before. Overall Great Recipe my whole family loved it but the ultimate compliment came from my Grandmother, best she's ever had she said..it doesn't get any better than that.

This was my first time to make chicken and dumplings and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I fixed my dumplings pretty small and I still had to cook 20 minutes longer to get my dumplings done. I think next time I will roll out my dough and cut into rectangles like my mom use to do. I also minced all the vegetables because our family is not big on them. It tasted so good!

Just finished cooking this recipe and this is the BEST chicken and dumplings I've ever had!!!! I also did a few things different. I didnt have fresh herbs, used dried and used a rotisserie chicken to save time. I am so pleased with this recipe that it will stay in rotation FOREVER. Thank you Pat and Gina.

This is realllllyyyy, good!! I did a few things different....I put four huge chicken breast in a crock pot with half an onion, 1 bay leaf, Lawry's season salt and blk pepper. When I shredded the chicken I seasoned it again with a little Lawry's. For the dumplings I used Cilantro instead of parsley...since that is a herb I never seem to have. I then used a cookie scoop to drop the dumplings into the pot....sooo good. You can just taste the south all in this recipe.

Awesome recipe. As with anything, I always tweak it a bit and make it my own. Oh yeah - I PUT MY FOOT IN IT!

Overall the taste was good. The time for cooking the dumplings is short. It needed more time. Otherwise a solid recipe.

So, I literally just finished making this. I mean I just walked from the kitchen back to my lap top with a small bowl to sample the finished product and it's DE-LIC-IOUS!! I'm astounded that I was able to make chicken and dumpling I was bit confused with the instruction to "form the dough into a dumpling with your hands". I wasn't sure how big a dumpling should be, am I making a ball or a flat noodle type thingy. Either way I guess it doesn't matter now because it tastes great. I can't wait for my family to try it tomorrow. By the way, I also used rotisserie chicken to cut the time.
