I have made this several times now and I always get compliments like "this is the best soup I've ever had!" I sometimes sub Kale for Chard and also add spinach sometimes. Comes out great!

This soup is great. Also a good way to use up the Easter ham. I did add extra chicken brooth (depends on how thick you want it. I also used kale instead of Swiss chard, just because they didn't have chard at my grocery store. Excellent flavor.

Quick and simple and surprisingly flavorful! Wife is allergic to carrots so I subbed with butternut squash. Added some dry rub to the ham for added flavor. I will try to make different variations using this as a base!!

Yum! Yum! Yummy! Savory goodness in pot. Keep to the recipe; it is perfect blend of ingredients. Make early and let cool in the dutch oven (not the refrigerator all day to meld the flavors together. Reheat and serve with warm, buttered french bread and dunk away.
Don't shy away from this recipe because of the unusual ingredients.....live a little and try something new! You will be pleasantly surprised. Trust me.

Great taste! I used some fresh spinach that I had, instead of the chard. I might reduce the red pepper flakes next time. The heat wasn't overbearing, just a little too much.

This recipe was fantastic. I did make some slight changes. I had about 1.5 lbs of ham that I had left over from Christmas dinner so I did not use any bacon. Instead I chopped up my ham and sauted in olive oil until crisp. I used kale instead of the chard. I used 2 10oz cans of Rotel diced tomato with green chilis. All I can say is wow. Everyone loved it. Definately a keeper.

Give this soup a try. It is super EASY and GOOD!!! Doubled the chard. The cheese is not necessary. Careful with the Worcestershire, it can be overbearing. Served with cornbread. Thanks, Neelys
