Watching them make this cake...it looked heavenly. I needed to take food to a couple of families so I divided the batter into 3 medium loaf pans and had to cook it a little longer....I added an extra 1/2 c. sugar since the batter seemed not so sweet. I dropped one of the blocks of cream cheese off and just used one...tasted a LOT better. I split the loaves in half and iced the middle and top and sprinkled with crushed oreos. Ended up being delicious....it's almost a cross between a cake and brownie.

into 3 seperate pieces and make a total mess of my counter top. nothing like
cleaning up creame cheese and butter when your expecting dinner guest any minute.....do not bake this cake..

I was so excited to make this but... it really wasn't that great. I mean it wasn't bad but... not what I hoped for. The icing makes A LOT! I had so much left over I could do another cake. My husband thought the icing was great..which it was but maybe use that icing on a different cake?

So I saw this recipe a couple of weeks ago on the foodnetwork channel and was so excited to make it. I got all the ingredients now to make it for my birthday cake. The instructions were a little wierd and when I added the egg to the dry ingredients it was wierd but then improved and i thought mm this'll be good. when i took it out of the oven, i let it cool for the allowed 5 minutes. i started taking one out and it fell in half. then my sister helped witht he other one and half of the bottom stayed in the pan. and to top it all off it was not very sweet. Terrible epic failure for a birthday cake. I will now use the idea from a previous comment and make death by chocolate. I love the Neely's but this was terrible!!!

I just made this recipe as cupcakes and it turned out great. I was worried about it being too sweet because they are cookies in the batter and the icing. I would make this again! The whole family enjoyed it! Thanks Neelys!

I followed the recipe to the letter and this cake came out AWESOME!! It was moist, and there was more than enough frosting to cover the entire cake and a nice thick layer in-between the layers. It was absolutely DELISH!

After reading some of the reviews I was really worried that the cake would turn out dry and tasteless but it was the dessert of the party!! The outside of the cake was a bit dry but no one seemed to complain. All I heard was "this is SOOO heavenly!" Because the outside was more dry than the rest of the cake I did end up icing the whole cake, instead of the just the middle layer and top. It didn't look awful. Throw a few oreos around the edges for decoration and you're good to go! Everyone loved it - will make it again!

This cake was sooo moist and the Oreo cookies made it even yummier.
I spread the icing over the entire cake as I would a cake normally. The icing looks a little funny...but wow once you take a bite...Heaven!

I made this as my daughter's birthday cake because she loves Oreos. She absolutely loved it and so did I. I only used one stick of butter, by accident, and it still turned out moist. Next time, I will only use one 8-oz box of cream cheese as I had lots of frosting left over. Overall, it was really good. Will definitely make again!!
