Our family LOVED this recipe... yes, it is spicy! While I was making this I asked my husband if I should cut back on the spice, he said no... I used a combo of bone in chicken thighs & boneless thighs. My husband decribed the leftovers like szechuan (he loves szechuan beef! and I really enjoyed my leftovers with plain white rice. Next time I may cut back on the red pepper flakes, but I doubt it!!!

I wouldn't say this was bad, but I won't make it again. I followed some of the advice from the other ratings to cut back on the "heat". Like someone else said, the orange flavor tasted like it didn't belong.

I followed this recipe and was very disappointed. By putting the chicken back into the pan after it was crispy turned it into mush. Sauce wasn't that great either, pretty bland. Wouldn't bother making this again. Very forgettable

Now, that is a great chicken recipe!!! My husband thinks I'm an amazing cook now. He asks, "whose recipe is this?" And I always have to fess-up : The sauce was thickened already when I opened the foil and the dish was ready to dish up. The prunes are an interesting addition that compliment the HEAT of the dish! Oh, Yes, this will be a keeper! I'm currently eating leftovers and it's even better tonight! Thank you for bringing this dish to our table Mr & Mrs Neely!

" My family loved the Neely's Deviled Chicken. We enjoyed preparing the dish together. We omitted the spicy ingrediants, but the dish was still very good. We also mad the Bootatoes to go with it and enjoyed a unique family dinner. The different spices worked well togeather and it was great to have a dish we had never tried before prepared in our kitchen.

I thouht the chicken was wonderful - and so did my husband! I thought the sauce was different, but we loved it. I also made the candy corn which my husband said was the best corn he had EVER eaten. We were practically fighting over the last bits of chicken and corn!

The chicken was really good and just fell apart, and I liked the heat in the sauce, -- but there was something strange about the flavor of the sauce. I followed the recipe and didn't change a thing. Also, I always cook with good wine. I like watching the neelys and this was the first neely recipe I have tried.
Because of the sauce I probably wont make this again - but if I did I think I would leave the orange out altogether because I think that (IMHO it didn't work with the rest of the ingredients.

This had good depth of flavor but was pretty darn spicy. I would reduce the amount of red pepper flakes next time, and maybe the amount of hot sauce. But I would definitely make it again. The braised chicken was moist and tasty!
