I made the batter for Cod today and it was really good. Wound up putting the whole can of beer (12 oz. in it with just a lil' extra of the rest of the ingredients. It fried up beautifully in my deep fryer. Was so crispy and yummy. My family really liked it. Will definitely use this batter recipe again! Thank you Gina & Pat! Love your show and all the recipes! :-

High Five Neelys!!! As I was watching the two of you fix this dish last night, you had my mouth watering the whole time!!! I had to try it out today. I used Talapia as well, and it was fantastic. I couldn't find the pepper relish in my local store, so I winged it and used sweet relish and some cayenne pepper powder and several dashes of Frank's Red Hot in the tarter sauce.
It wouldn't have been a fish fry without the chips. Well, I tried sweet potatoes using your method. I seasoned them with a little salt and Mrs's Dash "Southwestern Chilpotle", and my kids gobbled them down. I also made some thick potatoe chips to go along with it as well.
My wife and I are addicted!! Just love watching the two of you add a little spice to the kitchen!!!

Everyone loved it....next time I am going to use 1 teaspoon of cayenne, to give it a kick. I'll never buy the premixed batter mix again. Can't wait to use it for shrimp.

!!!!Gina, this recipe is awesome. I forgot the beer and when I got home I did not know what to do. Then I said (what would Gina do, I looked in my refrigerator and saw extra coconut milk. Girls, it was the bomb!! My husband didn't know what hit him. The Coconut milk worked great! In addition, I put 2 teaspoon of you spicy tartar sauce mix into the fish batter (to spice it up a bit, you know, it was kicking and we chow down like never before. Keep up the good work. Thanks Neely?s.
