I followed this receipe using every ingredient. I made 8 check thighs and double the ingredients. Instead of grilling it I put it in the slow cooker. The chicken doesn't really taste like jerk and the season is bland. I've made other receipes by the Neely's which turned out great! Not sure what the raving reviews are about here. I've had jerk chicken at various locations including Jamaica. This is definitely the washed up "American" version of jerk chicken.

At the end of the day I don't care for jerk chicken. They lost me at the cinnamon. Some friends ate the result and raved about it, so I guess it was just me.

The Neelys never, ever disappoint. This was absolutely delicious and our plates were polished. It was the perfect amount of spice. I marinated the chicken overnight, so maybe that helped to soak the flavors in. I served it with Bobby Flay's mango salsa recipe.

I expected this to be spicier. It ended up being way too sweet.

Soooo good! Definitely make it with the Mango Black Bean and Tomato Salad. Every single flavor in the dish complements the others, it is wonderful. I put some of the leftover chicken on a corn torilla and topped with some sour cream and the salad for some jerk chicken tacos. Would not change a single thing!

Fantastic and easy too. This is what you do with chicken when you are getting bored with it.
