    The dough isn't just sticky... it's downright wet. Needs at least another cup of flour just to be workable. And I'd recommend using an electric skillet to fry them so you can regulate the temperature of the oil. That being said, these are the definition of comfort food. A totally delicious treat.

    I made these this morning ,,husband was going out icefishin,, and guys were meeting over her,,,very easy to make,,had all prepared lastnight,,just combined wet/dry this morning,,,needless to say i have 1 donut, and 1 donut hole left,,lol,,so I think it would be safe to say they were good....

    Thank You! Have just make these and they are simply delicious! I used butternut squash because I had some on hand. Family loved them and my grandson helped with them ( 3 years old. Thank you, Thank you!

    I made them this evening and they were great. I didn't make the icing I just used the cinnamon sugar.
    I would think you could use applesauce in place of the pumpkin.

    Hello LaDonna instead of pumpkin you can use sweet potatoes this is a great substitute for those of us that don't like pumpkin. Let me know how you like them

    My husband is a fanatic for cake donuts but not really a fan of pumpkin.

    Does anyone know what can be used instead of pumpkin. I think leaving it out would alter the moistness of the donut.

    Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.
