I am making these this weekend for my superbowl party, but am unsure what pecorino cheese is, and what might make a good substitute if I cant find it in my small town?
I can't wait to sink my teeth into these!

I made these last weekend for the first time, and they were a HIT with my family! The meatballs were easy to make, and they had just the right amount of spice in the recipe. They were just wonderful in flavor. I think the best part for my husband and me was the presentation with the basil leaf on top of the meatball, and the fact that they were in little, bite-sized sandwiches. This recipe yielded a lot of left-overs, which we gladly ate the next day. The only thing I would say is to warn people that they need to brown their meatballs in batches. Don't try to do it all at once, like I did! I have loved every recipe we have tried from the Neelys, and we will definitely be making this one again!!! I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing, laid back meal.

My husband and I watch the Neely's show all the time and I am always looking for new recipes to try out on the family. This one really hit a HOMERUN!!! and some of the idiots who have been posting things about how the Neely's show isn't good or there is too much jive or whatever you want to call it in the kitchen.... you know how to change the channel.... No offense but that is what you call cooking with love... family time.... soul food... and anything else POSITIVE you can think of. When you love to cook (especially for family then you do whatever, however you want. So change the channel if you don't like it and quit complaining cause the rest of us like it. and by the way...... this is for rating the recipe... not the hosts of the show.

This section is a place to review recipes not to criticize & put people down. So what if they are more affectionate that you think they "should be" - wouldn't the world be a better place if we were all just a little more kind and a little less critical of one another. I did make the meatball sliders and my family LOVED them.
