This fried rice was very good, I forgot pineapple at the store but decided to make it anyway. It turned out fine; I added a little orange juice for the sweetness I assume the pinapple would have gave it. I also added one egg

Very yummy rice! After reading the reviews, I used shrimp instead of ham and also added one fried egg to the rice. I will definitely make this again!

I am new in the kitchen in a way... wasnt much of a cook, take out was my friend. But my fiance is more of a home cooked man, and has had the patience to try everything I try to make. This was one recipe he told me right off the bat he loved it. And to think I saw your show while I waited for my son at his doctors meeting. Thks a lot. Gonna watch every week :

If you haven't tried the recipe, or you can't wait to try it, or you're commenting on someone elses comment how is it that you can form your fingers to give the recipe any type of rating!!! It really kills the authenticity of the rating process and negates it intended purpose! I realy wish people would find better things to do with their time....btw the fried rice was GREAT! (I added egg as well

I made this along with the chicken/broccoli stir-fry in the same episode. I think my biggest error was the amount of rice. I made 4 cups of PRE-COOKED rice, instead of 4 cups of cooked rice and it was just way too much. I also, did not add the bells, ham or pineapple, b/c that's just my taste. I also scrambled an egg into it. And I think my other big error, was instead of grabbing the seasme seed oil, I grabbed the rice vinegar. Oops! The over abundance of rice made for a mushy mess and all the veg got lost in it. I love me some good fried rice and was excited to try to make it at home and failed. Miserably. My fault, not theirs.

This is a really good fried rice, but I'm not going to make it my only fried rice recipe. I sometimes like to have bacon in my rice, and it really adds a good flavor to use the bacon grease to fry the rice in. Also, peas are good in it. We enjoyed this a lot though, so it will be one I make again and again.

My husband and I had this fried rice along with the brocolli and chicken stirfry and we enjoyed it. I didn't use fresh ginger and I didn't have any bell pepper, but added carrots and it was still great!!

This recipe was so quick and simple. I used the same recipe. But, instead of ham I used medium size shrilmp. I added the raw shrimp the same time I added the red pepper( cook time about 8 minutes . I also covered the rice after I added it to the skillet. This really infused all the flavors ! I paired this with veggie egg rolls and coconut shrimp for a more carribean feel! Everyone LOVED it including the kids! Thanks Neely's

I love Chinese food and I'm always looking for recipes to make at home. This one is great but I substituted the ham for chicken just because I love chicken friend rice. Next time I'll do a shrimp friend rice version.
@Sylvia-- you can ALWAYS substitute any meat for another--you are the making it so adjust to your likes/dislikes.
