The frosting was way too liquidy to stay together! I tried adding more confectioners sugar to make it like more of a frosting, but it wasn't the same. Next time I make these, I'll modify the recipe for a thicker filling. Regardless of their high mess-factor, they tasted pretty good in the end! Mine had to be refrigerated to prevent them from becoming completely melty...

THEY WERE UTTERLY UNBEARABLE.I COULD NOT GET USED TO THE PUMPKIN WITH THE CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE AND CINNAMON . IT WAS MUCH TOO RICH AND A LITTLE DISTURBING TO MY PALATE.

These were bigger than I expected, next time definitely will make them smaller. They tasted fantastic though! They can be refrigerated and are still yummy cold.

These whoopie pies were really yummy! However, they don't stay together very well. I'm wondering what i did wrong?

First, the recipe as published has been corrected for the previous posts so just run with the pubilshed recipe.
The next time I make these I would substitute pumpkin pie spice for the cinnimon. - my wife said that the filling tasted like Coconut...and by gosh she was right...interesting....Anyway, I'll try pumpkin pie spice next time. Also, the recipe didn't make enough filling for all the cakes to have plenty of filling in there. I scraped the bowl and made it but It could have used another 50% more. I'll try them again and see how they comeout!

After reading the other reviews, especially the fact that on TV they used 1 1/4 cups sugar, that's exactly what I did. They turned out great and will make them again for Turkey Day.

I fixed the recipe as suggested in the other reviews and they were wonderful! I used 1 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa and they were prefect. I also doubled the filling to make sure that there was enough for all of the pies. They were a hit and I will be making them again!

I actually made this recipe twice because I thought I did something wrong the first time when the moon pies didn't turn out. Come to find out after reading others' reviews, it wasn't just me. Make sure to increase the sugar to 1 1/4 cup and hopefully all will be good. Unfortunate that food network can't get measurments correct, don't they go over these for typos before posting??
