I made this with my daughter Sunday and we noticed the ingredients seemed off, but considering the source we decided to make it as it called for. Bad move. Dry hard and bitter cakes... the icing is delicious however, and I'll use that again, perhaps for a filling for a pumpkin roll. Too bad - time and money wasted.
I plan to do what another reviewer suggested and contact Food Network.

Tried the recipe and they turned out perfect. I did notice the sugar amount was low so I did increase to1 cup. The sweetness from the filling made up the missing sugar, they were perfect

I haven't made this recipe nor will I since several viewers point out an error with the quantities. I sent an e-mail to customer service complaining about the measurements for the ingredients being incorrect. I suggest you all do the same. At the bottom of the page it says contact us, us that to send your complaint. With people being tight with money, and not to mention the time that goes into making the recipe, they need to know their viewers are not happen. And like in my case I work during the day so I can't see the shows, and even though I am what I consider and experienced cook, sometimes not all errors can be caught and for those of us views that can't see the show, recipes need to be accurate and easily understood by someone who does see the show.

I was just watching this episode on TV and the quantity on the sugar is incorrect. Patrick measured out 1 1/4 cup of sugar to cream with the butter

I've grown up eating and making whoopie pies. When I looked over the recipe, I found 1/4 cup of sugar to be funny. I checked my other recipes, and sure enough, at least 1 cup of sugar was added to the cookie part. I also found 3/4 cup of cocoa power to be too much compared to my other recipes. I added 3/4 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa, and they turned out like normal. They are supposed to "puff up". The cookie is sort of the cross between a cookie and cake. The filling is very good.

After watching recent show, I couldn't wait to make these cookies. But what a disappointment. The cookies rose to big puffs about an 1 to 1 1/2 inch high and when the cookie rested it stayed that way. I flattened them down but they're dry. The filling was good but couldn't save this cookie.

NEVER try this! It turns out looking lumpy and tasteless. I followed the recipe exactly how it was and it was a disaster!!!! On tv they come out perfectly round and pretty. The batter is dry and tastes like flour with unsweetend cocoa powder. I love the neelys but this recipe was not good at all!

I got up this morning all ready with the ingredients to make these Whoopie Pumpkin Pies to take to a Footbal outing and they did not turn out.... I don't know what I did wrong... but I put a "heaping" Tablespoons full on parchment paper lined sheets and it took 10 -12 min to get done, plus they popped up in all directions and were not a nicely rouunded cookie like I saw on your TV Show.
Needless to say, they are now in the trash...... I didn't miss an ingredient....but they were a bit dry when all was combined.... .Love your show, but I won't be trying these again! :(
