I didn't use coconut, but it was still fantastic!! I will make it again. But I might use less sugar next time.

Made this for Thanksgiving this year. My daughter who is picky, said its the best yams I've ever made. I put the coconut and cashews on a pan and toasted them in the oven for about 10 mins before it put them on top tho. It was delicious!!

Great For Make A Head Dish!

Followed directions all the way thru cooking in oven the day before.
Refrig over night/Travel to location next day and let it come to room temp. Put topping on top and let it heat/toast the topping in 375 oven for about 30 min. It would have been much shorter time to heat up, but the oven was sharing space with rolls, dressing and oven door kept opening. SO 30 min to heat up is probably not the norm.

My whole family loved it. Some don't like nuts, so I only put nuts on one half. The side with out nuts was just as popular with the non-nut crowd.
(Side note I totally forgot about the cinnamon but it still tasted awesome!

WOW! Big hit for Thanksgiving dinner. Made this recipe as followed with the exception of splitting the eggs to fold in the stiff egg whites to the mixture as others have shared. Also just put coconut on half for those who do not care for it. I found the coconut was a key ingredient that made it stand out more. Definite keeper!

Made this for Thanksgiving. Very tasty. Omitted nuts and coconut. Other than that, stick with the recipe!
