We won the office chili cook off with this recipe today! Super dish. A great balance of spice but not over the top for those with a tender tongue

this chili was very good, It wasn't spicy at all so if you want more kick you'll have to increase the heat. I find that this recipe makes a lot more than 4-6 servings so it was too much for me and my husband. It won't go to waste though since I froze the rest. made with corn bread muffins, yum!

This Chili is AMAZING. I made it because it didn't seem too spicy and I wanted my 2 year old to be able to eat it. I used 1/2 a pkg of bacon (we are in WI and love our bacon, omitted the Chipotle chili seasoning(not a fan of chipotle and used O'Douls Amber beer (not for any other reason than i had that and Bud Light in the fridge and thought the Odouls Amber would give it better flavor. My 2 year old DEVOURED it. My husband thought it was the best chili he's had in awhile. HIGHLY recommended. You can always spice it up after it's made for those who like spicy chili. Made some Grands Buttermilk biscuits and put honey on them as a side. Success!!

Very tasty, although a little more soupy than how I prefer my chili. I didn't have any Budweiser so I added Yuengling. Also I used diced tomatoes with green chilies since I had those on hand. My first taste, I thought it was a little too flat so I added about 1/2 tablespoon on salt. The salt really kicked up the spices! So, then I ended up adding about 1 1/2 tablespoon of sugar and it turned out great. Next time I will probably cut some of the spices back and drain the diced tomatoes before adding.

This recipe is one of my favorites! I've made it several times. I usually skip the beef and use ground turkey and I always add more bacon (using the entire pack. It adds more flavor and people always mention that they love the bacon. I also add cilantro to garnish. I leave out the black beans (don't really like them and substitute pinto beans. I make more than I need and then freeze it... It's great reheated and makes for an easy mid-week dinner. I make homemade corn bread muffins to go with it. Delicious!

Excellent recipe. I made this the night before a football party and was able to cool it and store it in my fridge in the Dutch Oven I made it in... come party time I just threw it back on the stove to reheat. My husband said it was better the second day! It thickened up nice and had a great consistency. Ingredients were cheap and easy to find, and directions were easy to follow. It was a huge hit, my friends took home leftovers. Just a word of caution, it is a bit spicy... Definitely not unbearable, but it has a nice heat to it, so just be aware in case you have any people who hate spicy!

I doubled the bacon and substituted the chipotle powder with cayenne. I pressed the garlic as I am not a fan of eating chunks of garlic. Just the right amount of heat, and a perfect bean/meat ratio for my liking. I'll be making this over and over!
