I do not understand how people could actually think one would use FOUR TABLESPOONS of salt on four porkchops. It's just like Paula Deen's recipe for House Seasoning. Some idiots try and use the whole recipe, which is one-half cup salt, in one recipe, when the recipe clearly states one teaspoon, or whatever, certainly never the whole batch. It makes me sad that there is so little common sense in the world.

Hey Kathryn in NC If you really watch the shows you'll always know, they always have left over seasoning in their episodes. They gave THE PAYNES 2 spice jars with the dry rub as a gift, so they did'nt use it all you have to

The rub for this recipe came out way too salty and peppery. I have to believe that there was a miscommunication regarding the amount of salt, pepper, and cayenne - the recipe states 4 TABLESPOONS of salt, 2 TABLESPOONS of pepper, and 1 TABLESPOON of cayenne (among other ingredients. That would mean EACH pork chop has 1 TBS of salt, as well as 1.5 tsp of pepper and 3/4 tsp. cayenne. The chops were so salty and peppery, we couldn't eat them. Will try again, but will cut way back on these particular ingredients.
