This would have been a great recipe for baked beans had there been instructions to soak the dried navy beans before adding to the pot. I suspected this needed to be done, but decided to follow the recipe exactly. I watched the recipe being prepared on "Down Home With The Neely's", as well, and they also added the washed and "picked over" beans to the pot without having soaked them first. Instead of the 3 hour cooking time, I let them cook 4 1/2 hours, but they never became soft. Although the flavor was great, this resulted in my having a very large pot of baked beans, which had to be tossed.

It looks so good, why wasn't the recipe and directions for grilling the chicken posted with the other recipes. I am terribly disappointed! He gave excellant information on how to grill the chicken and I would love to have that info, Thanks I LOVE their show......Kathywitha ""K""

This recipe knocked my old favorite recipe out of the park! I would also like to have the Alabama White Barbecue Sauce recipe. It sounded yummy. You really have my attention!

These baked bean were spicy but we really enjoyed them. But why does the recipe call for pre-heating the oven to 325 degrees? You simmer them on the stove for the entire cooking time. Did I miss something?
