Although I am a cajun and love hot food, I made the mistake of cutting down on the crushed red pepper and cayenne pepper. I thought it would be too hot. I was wrong. It needs all of the spices recommended to really bring out the flavor "pop" on this exceptional recipe.
While this is a wonderful dry recipe for wings, in fact, it could be used as a primary fried chicken recipe. It is absolutely delicious, hot or cold.
I fixed it last night and my wife and I ate the leftovers for lunch today. We loved it.
I told my wife, "why should I buy KFC, Popeyes, or Church's fried chicken when I have a recipe that is comparable, if not better."
This recipe is a rare find that you should add to your favorites. It is now my favorite fried chicken recipe.

We actually made this with chicken tenders and they came out so juicy. I ran out of crushed red pepper, but it was definitely still spicy. Will do this one again!

Nicely seasoned, reminds me of spicey popeyes resturant fried chicken. Good crunch, easy, good results.

Couldn't wait to fix these after seeing the Neelys introduce them!
These wings are absolutely wonderful. I had fun making them. I have a new flash fryer and boy did that thing do the best fry! I would recommend to anyone who wants to eat great wings....make them!!!!! I made a dozen and had a couple leftover and reheated in the oven - they tasted as good as first time....THANKS NEELYS!

After seeing the Neeleys make these, we just had to try them for the Super Bowl. We used approx 1 1/2 times the spices and they came out great. My husband and son like the hot stuff and they thought they were perfect. I dont do hot, but tried one and it was very good. They said they are even better today.

I made drumsticks instead of wings, and they were awesome. This is definitely something I would make again.

This is a fantastic recipe and my hubby said that they were the best wings that he ever had. I made them for our Super Bowl celebration. When I fried them, I used corn start with the flour and that the only modification that I made to the recipe. The cornstarch made the wings very crispy and delicious. We love the Neelys!

I did what Gina said, and made them myself instead of going out. I didn't have exactly the spices you used, so I made my own mixture, and they turned out wonderful. I never thought I was a good "wing fryer," but using your method, i have changed my mind. I'll make them over and over.
