I was expecting more of a cupcake, sweet and fluffy. Instead they were more of a muffin, dense, and not as sweet as I would like. The frosting did balance them out. But I think they should rename them as "Pumpkin Muffins" And they need to be cooked 25min not 20min. Mine were a little raw inside.

Just made these and the flavor is definitely great. The batter combined with the frosting has a great balance, however, I found that the cake part itself lacked a little bit of sweetness. I also cut down the ginger, allspice and nutmeg to 1/4 of a teaspoon but only b/c I don't prefer those flavors.
The consistency of the cupcakes is very light and they are just perfect for the holidays. Great cupcakes.

I made these as "pumpkin muffins" without the icing. The cupcakes are very light and fluffy. They are not overly sweet, just lightly sweetened. A nice, light treat!

These are a good treat. The pumpkin cake has just the right amount of sweetness, and works well with the cream cheese icing, although I will add more spice the next time
I make them. Lots of left over icing, so either double the cupcake recipe or half the icing recipe.
