This may have not been "authentic" Louisiana but it still very good. Will definitely make again.

I admit I didn't know if my family would like red beans and rice as much as I do so I cut the recipe in half. To my surprise the only comments I got as empty plates passed were "boy that was good" and "make a bigger pot next time"

My parents are from Lousiana and thought me how to make ?real? red beans. Although I know how to make the longer version there is nothing wrong with making it this way. Instead of using smoked pork sausage I used smoked turkey. I also used celery salt instead of fresh celery. Overall this was DELIOUS! I love the Neely's quick & easy recipes

I made this for my husband and he tried to eat the entire bowl. I have an MSG allergy so I had to get a smoked sausage that didn't have monosodium glutamate. I purchased Smithfield's smoked sauage. The directions are easy to follow. I didn't use the rub because I can't buy it here in SC, but it was still fine.
I will definitely make this again. Thanks for a great recipe!

This recipe was great! Easy to prepare. I used Turkey smokes sausage without any problems. And also added a can of Rotel Tomatoes for some kick!! Wonderful dinner for the family.

I used to live in New Orleans and canned beans no way. This is not the way to make red beans and rice. Sorry I will keep making mine the old way soak and cook beans.

Something this easy to make shouldn't be SO delicious, but it is and was! I just saw this recipe broadcast today, realized I had all of the ingredients on hand and thought why not make this for the main meal and serve with a great salad. EVERYONE, even my most picky eater, loved this dish. My kitchen smelled so good while this was cooking, we could barely wait to eat. I found the recipe for the Neeley's Dry Rub on the foodnetwork site, so that wasn't a problem - it's 4 oz. of paprika, 2oz. of white sugar and 1 teasp. of onion powder - easy, store the extra for another use later. Follow the instructions for this Red Beans & Rice recipe and you'll not have a problem. Keep 'em coming Pat and Gina!

I am writing this review after catching the episode. This may be a fine recipe, but it is not the way anyone in New Orleans cooks red beans!

I used smoked turkey sausage which has a fraction of the fat-but I used 14 oz. , and Essence of Emeril in lieu of the Neely's rub. This was quick and delicious, will definitely make it again. My toddler even liked it!

I made this for my family. It was fairly easy to prepare. Cooking the rice in chicken broth was great. The family loved it.
