This recipe made TONS of cake batter. I tried to follow directions and distribute evenly between 12 cones, and also only to fill half full. they puffed up soooo much, that they overflowed while baking. Next time I will make 2 dozen.

I was a little hesitant on how they would taste when I saw the vinegar but they tasted great. Make sure you only fill the cones halfway because I didn't follow the instructions & the filling spilled over. I had no issues with the cones being soggy, I made sure to get something other than store brand cones because they are sometimes more brittle. When I baked them I used a muffin tin instead of just a baking sheet.

I couldn't wait to make these with our youndg granddaughter but they were a total disaster. I don't know if the measurements were wrong or not but we were very careful about how we measured as I am trying to teach her that you have to be very careful when you measure in baking. There was nothing red ab out our cupcakes, they were brown. The cupcakes rose just fine, in fact too fine and went everywhere and then they dropped and we had a big hole in the middle. My husband cut the tops of the cones out to ice them and the cones tasted awful. I threw out about 3/4 of the icing bec ause it made way too much and I only used about 2 1/2 cups of the sugar but our granddaughter still said it was too sweet. The only good thing I can say about the recipe is that it gave us something to laugh about the rest of the day and evening.
P.S. Today we are making Giada's Lasagna Rolls to take on a picnic at the ballgame and we know they always turn out perfect.

Made this receipe for my kids becuase I thoguht they would love the cake in a cone gimmick. It tastes wonderful, but suffered serious bakign malfunctions.
A my cones got soft and lost the "crunchieness" of them
B cake batter oozed out of the sides of the cones into the cup can tin
Kids thought that that was cool thought, kinda like, ice cream melting down the down the side of the cone, but I am wondering what I could do prevent that next time. Any ideas from the food gods?
Other than that, this is an easy and fun way to bake with your kids.

I made these and they were very tasty and super cute! I think baking them in the cone helps to keep the cupcake moist. I was going to take them to work today, but couldn't figure out a good way to transport them. I tried an egg carton, but that didn't work. Thoughts?

Why does everyone start their review with "I haven't tried this yet, but..." Are they not familiar with the definition of a review? Looking up the term "review," I find under the first definition: "a critical article or report, as in a periodical, on a book, play, recital, or the like; critique; evaluation." That means you actually have to TRY IT to evaluate or critique it. Get it, people?

I was watching the show and saw the recipe and had to try it! I went right to the store to get all of the ingredients. I made them into regular cupcakes instead of using cones because I was feeding an older crowd. Everyone LOVED them!!! I've actually made them twice since seeing the show, in only 3 days. The only minor issue I had was the top part of the cupcake fell apart a little, a little crumby. No one noticed, but I like to analyze. Does anyone have any suggestions?
