I haven't try this but want to make it for tomorrow party. Is there a way that I can transfer it to the party?

The Neelys have great recipes. I have enjoyed two of these and many more in the past. I have been married 59 years and still think cooking and dancing are fun...yes, even at the same time. Wish I could shake it like Gina! I always look forward to their fun show.

My sister and I love the Neelys. We watch every week and try their recipes more than any other Food Network's chefs. We've just seen the red velvet cone cakes and they will be PERFECT for the "true blood" party we have every Sunday night. Thank you for the fresh spin on such a classic dessert. FYI, every recipe we've ever tried of the Neelys has come out perfect. Must be a southern thing. Thanks again

I have not made this receipe yet but can't wait. In fact I'm making it tonight. I also think that people need to keep the negative comments to theirselves. There are so many shows out there that you can watch instead of the Neelys that you should not have anything to complain about. I mean you have to turn your channel to the station and no one has a gun to your head to watch it. I like watching this show because you can see all the love they put into the meals. I love watching and they are one of the best cooking couples I know. Keep up the good work.

I've been looking for a cream cheese frosting that is not too runny or overly sweet. And this frosting was perfect for piping decorations. And as for reviews about Gina's personality being "over the top" and distracting from the recipe instructions, I disagree!!! I enjoy watching the Neely's having fun with one another in the kitchen. Who wants to watch a boring married couple. The Neely's have their own style and should not be expected to act like anyone else. Learn to embrace what's different!

Can I substitute the buttermilk and red food color for pomagranate juice or blueberry/pomagranate juice?
Other than that the recipe sounds good. The flat bottom ice cream cones always work well, the children can decorate there own and are easily transportable to school.

I tried the recipe for the first time and was very disappointed. I have made Red Velvet Cupcakes before and they never came out looking like Coco Cupcakes. The recipe calls for toooo much Coco and not enough red food coloring. I always use Paula's recipe, but I didn't want to make 24 cupcakes and didn't know how to change the recipe. I understand that baking is a science so I tried the Neelys because the serving was for 12. I am going to Paula's and try a few things from the Neelys to make less.

Please leave the negative comments to yourself. I love this show and the recipes even better. If anyone has seen how these two got started, they were hand-picked by Paula Deen's sons. Paula Deen basically gave them this show so she must have seen the natural chemistry between the Neely's and their love for cooking. Plus, Paula Deen mentioned in another show that Gina had stage fright on their very first taping, so it's nice to see her stepping out of her box and comfortable with the camera. Watching their love and family together is refreshing.
