These were good but needed 40 minutes in the oven not 20 minutes. Also, the sliced garlic turned into hard lumps.

These potatoes are a very simple, tasty side dish. Instead of parsley, I used rosemary for some extra flavor. Next time, I will use a little more kosher salt. Definitely needs 35-40 minutes. All reviewers are correct in saying that 20 minutes is not enough. I also used baby red potatoes, as fingerlings were not available. I only gave this recipe 4 stars because it is a little boring. Fresh herbs and little more salt really kick the potatoes up a bit.

Out of respect to the Neelys I gave this recipe a 5. To be honest I seen this recipe and did a few things different. I must say the party of 8 I had served are very educated eaters and i heard nothing but praise for what I served. My changes were par boiling the potatoes for 15 minutes. (dont you hate waiting for potatoes that never cook all the way Then I slowly sauteed the 8 garlic cloves until they were nice and brown. Then i used my pampered chef garlic press and pressed the garlic, evoo, parsley, and about 6 sprigs of fresh rosemary. I masaged all the ingredients together and whoala! A homerun....

As in most cases OVENS DO VARY LISA! I cooked mine for 20 minutes at 350 and guess what, the potatoes were still hard. I increased the oven to 375 for 10 more minutes and guess what, they were STILL HARD. Put them in a pan on the stove with some butter for about 10 more minutes and guess what, they were delicious! And YES LISA I did use the EVOO when I cooked them in the oven! Does it make a difference if it is an electric or gas, it could as I have an electric oven. Lisa, stop your whinning. These were very good!

I used a bag of fingerling potatoes that had the purple ones in there too and my daughter went nuts over them! (They're purple inside as well. They were very good, although I did have to cook them an additional 15 minutes like a previous reviewer said. No big deal. My only criticism is that they just didn't have a lot of flavor other than the garlic. I would probably throw in some more herbs next time to kick up the flavor a bit.

I'm with Nancy from Texas....20 minutes wasn't near enough time. I even gave them 25 minutes because I knew from cooking potatoes that this wasn't probably enough time. They were great, but give them at least 35 minutes.
They were delicious though.

I had never made the fingerlings at home so I said I would wait until I went to a high end grocery store, and wouldnt you know? There they were as I was passing by the baby reds in Albertsons. I got a bag for $2.99 which was plenty as I made the neelys pot roast and a vegetable. Those potatoes were so tasty!!!!!! crisp on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside!! You have to try it!

My store didn't have fingerling pototoes so I used baby ones. I did have to cook them longer even though I did cut them up, though it might be my pan. I have a double insulated pan and everything seems to take longer to cook in it. Such a simple and easy recipe, throw it in the oven and forget it. Can't beat that. Loved it

I was reading these reviews....You absolutely must put enough EVOO on these Fingerlings or they will not cook in the allotted time. Come on people follow the darn directions before knocking their recipe. It was delicious and Fingerlings cook really fast. Quit whining. Pat and Gina have awesome recipes.
