I have made this recipe for my family 3 time and they love it. I put my roast into the crockpot and allow it to cook that way. I always have extra meat so I use the exrta meat for a bbq bacon pizza the next day. I have also used this recipe with beef instead of pork and it turned out just as good. the BBQ sauce is great over shreded chicken sandwiches as well

No offense to Parker, but it wasn't just cooked in a smoker for 1 1/2 hours at 225. After basting with the BBQ sauce it cooked for another 30 minutes. Then, once inside the crust, it was cooked for about 50 minutes at 350 and was steaming in there. Seems like plenty of cooking time and heat to me!

Delicious! Per this episode: Hour and a half on the smoker then baste w/BBQ sauce, then continue to smoke for another 20-30 minutes. Then 50 min to 1 hour baked inside the pie - 2 hrs 45 min total cook time. I might add corn or some other vegtables to the pie. Quite a few steps and time for an "easy" recipe, but worth it!

No offense to the Neelys, whom my wife and I love, but this recipe is pure fantasy. In what universe can a 4 pound piece of pork get up to 170 degrees in a 225 degree grill after only an HOUR AND A HALF?! Sorry, guys. We've trusted you all for a lot of recipes but this one just fell completely flat. I mean, we saw the episode! You had to have been eating raw meat! Your other smoked butt recipe, I might add, calls for a 275 degree smoke and 6 hours of cooking. Now THAT is accurate.

This was one of the best BBQ pork I have tasted! The bbq sauce works really well with the pork. My entire family loved it. I served it with deep fried corn on the cob. I will definitely make this again soon.
