Grilling veggies is a great way to add depth of flavor while keeping nutrients intact. This recipe is perfect, especially if you are cooking on a stovetop grill plate. Blanching the broccoli first partially pre-cooks it so that you don't need to blacken it on the grill to get it at the right tenderness. A simple lemon juice / olive oil plus salt and pepper, and dry rub with red pepper flakes to taste adds just the right amount of seasoning to the grilled broccoli.
For variation, I think one could use balsamic vinegar instead of the white wine. Try a drizzle of garlic-infused heated olive oil just before serving, or a sprinkle of freshly grated parmesan.
I only gave 4 stars because I could not easily find what spices/herbs are contained in Neely's Dry Rub. I know you can find it online, but a link or a listing of ingredients within the recipe would be most helpful.

This is a great twist to the same old steamed broccoli. Loved it! It had the right amount of spice. It's wonderful with grilled chicken or grilled flank steak. Try it, you'll love it.

This was very good and easy. My husband said this is a great and different way for broccoli. I plan on taking this to a dinner this weekend.

We love grilled vegetables and this one is a winner. In response to the person who is looking for Neely's dry rub recipe: 1 1/2 cup paprika, 3/4 cup sugar, 3 3/4 tablespoons onion powder.

Made this for a family dinner over the summer. Two people did not like broccoli at all but loved this. It's not often I get to see people going back for seconds and thirds on vegetables!

I was looking for a different way to cook broccoli, and this did the trick! It's so good that even my 5 and 8 year old kids loved it!
