My husband loves it! He likes food with a bit of a sour kick - I think it's a German thing!

    My modifications:
I didn't have shallots so I used 1/2 an onion. The second time I made it I also added a little more raspberry preserve and butter and used a little less red wine vinegar.

Where did they find raspberry preserves in the Memphis metro area? I have seen them several times because I used to live 2 miles from them.

I hate to review without all the original ingredients, but I have to admit hat I had to substitute products but the rest of the recipe my husband loved!

To me, the recipe is a hit and I might go online and order the raspberry preserves for the next dinner!

So delicious! I'm not one to change recipes the first time - I trust the experts. However, I didn't have a shallot or raspberry preserves, so instead used onion and apricot preserves and it was still amazingly good. I'm not even a big fan of cumin, but it works so well with pork and especially well here with the sweet/tartness of the pomegranate.

DE-lish! The rub was perfect. I added the rub earlier in the day and let them sit in it for a while, and made the sauce prior to cooking them.
The only thing I did different to the sauce was make The Neely's homemade Applesauce and I added a little more apple juice to strain out a 1/2 cup for the sauce recipe above. (we aren't huge pomegranate fans and I really wanted an apple flavor in the sauce. Then for the TBSP raspberry reserves I used the applesauce.
I do have to say this sauce came out DELICIOUS! I love apple flavor with pork chops and it wasn't too sweet at all, I think the rub and sweet really complimented one another.
I then used half water and half beef stock to make the rice, and diced fresh roma tomatoes over the top to give it some fresh taste, and it was a hit! Will be making this again :

The chop and rub is good, even without the sauce. The allspice and cumin are a good balance of sweet and smoky. Definitely a keeper.

I wanted to try something different with my pork chops. My husband doesn't like to eat a lot of pork but when he tried this recipe he went back for seconds and thirds lol. I must say it was a hit in my household and will definitely be added to my regulars. Thanks for this delicious recipe. I love the Neelys!
