    These cookies are the best! I love the flavor. You can alter the sweetness by the amount of icing on the cookie. I only had dark molasses; turned out well. No need to omit the pepper. It rounds out the flavor. Thank you Neelys!

    These are delicious! Definitely for those who prefer a lot of flavor over a lot of sweetness in their desserts. All of the spices add to the feel of fall/winter; warm and hearty. Do beware of the pepper! At first, I didn't think there was enough but the cookies finish off quite spicy!

    This cookies are wonderful!!! I add the pepper which gives the cookie a sensation of something surprising in a sweet cookie. They came out the oven soft, chewy, yummy!! A very good recipe. If you let the dough overnight in the fridge is easier to work with it

    Love the spiciness of this recipe - even though I omitted the pepper. Even my two year old loved these. The dough was a little hard to work with, but the final product was delicious.
